तिल, जिसे सेसमे सीड (Sesame Seed) भी कहा जाता है, दुनिया की सबसे पुरानी तिलहन फसलों में से एक है। इसका खेती प्राचीन काल से की जाती रही है, और यह सूखे जैसी परिस्थितियों में भी उग सकता है।

हिंदू संस्कृति में तिल को अत्यंत पवित्र माना गया है और इसे पूजा-पाठ में एक महत्वपूर्ण पूजा सामग्री के रूप में उपयोग किया जाता है।

तिल के दो प्रकार होते हैं – काला तिल और सफेद तिल।

आयुर्वेद के अनुसार, तिल का सेवन मानव शरीर पर अत्यंत लाभदायक प्रभाव डालता है। विशेष रूप से सर्दियों के मौसम में इसका सेवन करने की सलाह दी जाती है, क्योंकि यह शरीर में गर्मी बनाए रखता है और स्वास्थ्य को मजबूत करता है।
